Home for the Holidays!
It’s here, the holiday season. If
you’re like me you’ll spend a good bit of your time in the kitchen
preparing those special holiday meals that earn you extra kisses and
hugs from the family.
The holidays are precious for so many
reasons in our home. I’ve long gotten over the excitement of giving and
receiving gifts. Now, I am more focused on reflecting on all that our
family has been through the past year and how grateful and blessed we
are to have made it.
More and more the holidays are
becoming, for me, a time of thankfulness. I must admit I enjoy
Thanksgiving most because the family is usually always together for a
family dinner. It’s simple, fun-filled and seldom changes from year to
year. It begins in prayer and each one, young and old, tells what we are
most thankful for. Our prayers of thanks provide a window into the
hearts of each family member gathered in the prayer circle, and creates
a lasting memory of what being home for the holidays is really all
about.
In this issue of IMARA Woman magazine,
we share stories of families’ cherished memories of home during the
holidays. (p. 12) We also offer some advice to parents on what matters
most to children during the holidays and all year long. (p. 18) And
we’ve got a few holiday entertaining tips that will help you make the
most of your holiday meals and time with family and friends without
putting on those extra pounds (p. 28) or stressing yourself out. (p. 30)
Remember, the reason for the season as
you celebrate the holidays. And whether you’re able to make it home to
be with family and friends or not this holiday season, remember that
home is where the heart is and, your memories of home will see you
through.
From our family to yours, we wish you
a holiday season of love and peace and a new year filled with good
health and prosperity.
Be blessed!
